چکیده

In this work, pillared bentonite with Al−Fe (Al−Fe−PILC) was synthesized and used as a heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst in the oxidation of tartrazine azo-dye an aqueous solution. The modification Al-Fe mixed system concentrated medium, ultrasound assisted intercalation carried out, obtained characterized by XRF, XRD, N2 adsorption at 77 K. Al−Fe−PILC, using different amounts H2O2, expressed multiple (1, 3, 6, 9) stoichiometry amount required to completely oxidize dye evaluated. reaction catalytic wet peroxide (CWPO) 400 mg Al−Fe−PILC 6 times stoichiometric H2O2 25 °C, reached 98.2±1.8% decolorization, 51.9±1.9% TOC removal 71.5±1.8% TN removal. Results study show that increased up certain limit. This process can be considered alternative for treating wastewater containing because takes place under mild experimental conditions (room temperature atmospheric pressure). Influence of Operational Parameters and Kinetic Modelling of Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation of Phenol by Al/Zr Pillared Clay Catalyst

Single and mixed oxide Al/Zr-pillared clay (Al/Zr-PILC) catalysts were synthesized and tested for catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of aqueous phenol solution under milder conditions, in a semi-batch reactor. The catalysts were synthesized from natural bentonite clay using ultrasonic treatment during the aging and intercalation steps and were characterized <...

2-Chlorophenol Removal of Aqueous Solution Using Advanced Oxidation Processes Resulting from Iron/ Persulfate and Ultra Violet/ Persulfate

Background: Advanced oxidation processes are used to remove toxic aromatic compounds with low biodegradability, such as 2-chlorophenol. This study investigates the use of Sulfate (SO4-) and persulfate (S2O82-) radicals, as one of the advanced oxidation methods, to remove 2- chlorophenol from aquatic solutions. Materials and Methods: This experimental and pilot-scale study was carried out usi...

Adsorption of Malachite Green from Aqueous Solution using Activated Ntezi Clay: Optimization, Isotherm and Kinetic Studies

The adsorption of malachite green from aqueous solution using a local low cost adsorbent, acid activated Ntezi clay, was investigated. The low cost adsorbent was activated with different concentrations of sulphuric acid and the physicochemical properties of the adsorbent were determined and the structural properties were analyzed using XRF and XRD. The adsorption process was studied as a functi...

Adsorption of Cu ( II ) and Ni ( II ) in Aqueous Solution using Biofilm Supported with Kaolinite Clay

Adsorption of each of the ions Cu (II) and Ni (II) on Escherichia coli ATCC25922 and Staphylococcus epidermidis RP62A supported by kaolinite clay in a batch system was investigated. Equilibrium adsorption capacity was determined to be a function of the solution pH, contact time, and initial metal concentrations. The results obtained from the adsorption experiments were used to understand the dr...

Decolorization of Cationic and Anionic Textile Blue Dyes from Aqueous Solution with Advanced Oxidation Process Using H2O2 and Various Catalysts

In this study, we used advanced oxidation process (AOP)for the removal of a cationic and anionic blue dyes, namely Basic Blue 3 (BB3) and Acid blue 62(AB62), from aqueous solutions. Fenton reactions are mixture of H2 O2 and Fe2+. However this paper investigates the application of twelve different catalysts such as: FeCl2 , FeSO4, (NH4 )Fe(SO4 )2 , FeCl3 , Nano iron (Fe0 ), Fe(NO3 )3 , K2FeO4 , ...
